This guy knew how to work the words!
And since you know you cannot see yourself,
so well as by reflection, I, your glass,
will modestly discover to yourself,
that of yourself which you yet know not of.
- William Shakespeare
Having said that, it should be noted that by some accounts W.S. invented more than 1700 of our common words. By some accounts, he came up with more than 28,000 (that is, twenty eight thousand) unique word ‘forms’ across all his writings. Now that is either the brilliance of a genius or a shortcut by a dimwit… can’t think of the right word? Hey, why not make something up?!
The quoted lines above don’t contain any inventions by the author though, so those still stand on their own merit!
